WHO ARE THE ODD NUMBERS?
Mods who play for the downtown Youth Culture and who, thankfully. haven't gone soft at the edges. These boys originated in early '88 playing their own brand of the music they love. heavily influenced by early'60's beat music, Tamla, Motown, and of course, Punk. They decided to take their sound to the San Jose streets. playing parties and looking for a break in the club scene. After getting a good reaction at the Cactus Club, they began playing shows for the Berkeley Pop Art scene, (mostly mods). but soon realized the limitations of just playing to one scene and decided to move on to broader horizons.
By contributing music to the Santa Cruz Skateboard video "Reason For Living" and most notably The New Deal debute video "Useless Wooden Toys" and promotional video the Odd Numbers have become a predomnit force in today's skaterock. They are featured in Trasher Magazines 10th annual skaterock compilation album,& C.D. These things have gained the boys world wide recognition prompting fan mail from as far away as Europe and Japan.
After releasing there first long player "About Time"and there newest 7" single "something New" the boys took to the road on a month and a half nation wide tour of 14 cities witch was very sucsessful. are Dave, Dave, and John the hardest working The Odd Number band in San Jose.
